The Home Life
I’M HOME!!! I made it back safely. Whew. I don’t have much time to write, but I thought I would update everyone and let them know I am here. Stateside. Hanging out with my fam. I’m going through a mix of emotions…
Excited to begin this next journey—of trying to find a job, figure out where I am going to live… etc.
Relieved—God was so good to me. He was completely and totally in the details...

I am back in Kiskunmajsa, the place where this big adventure began. On February 4 (the day after I arrived) I went on my first outreach. You can read about it in one of my first entries on my blog…. It was incredibly challenging for me, being thrown into ministry without having time to take a breath, I was overwhelmed at the time, but I look back and know it is exactly what I needed to do. I...
CampFest
5000 campers
200 volunteers
152 performances
5 days
4 hours of sleep a night
0 showers
Uncountable new friends
Immeasurable memories
Here is an excerpt from my journal on night 3 of the Campfest music festival:
Ahhhh.
Breathing a sigh of pure joy as I sit here inhaling the brisk mountain air. It’s 10:00pm and my evening is nowhere near ending. We will open the bus again in a few...

Day # 160 (not that anyone is counting...)
Wow, it has been a long time since I have updated this thing, and I apologize! I’ve been quite busy… my mom is in the other room right now cleaning up some dishes as I write. I can not tell you how wonderful it is to have her here. I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I think about her leaving in 3 days. We had an amazing time traveling through Austria and Germany using our...

A Few Prayer Requests...
- I had to go to a Hungarian doctor today, and he didn’t want to diagnose me without seeing a specialist, but i am extremely relieved… I have another apointment for tonight! Praises that i am surrounded by people who are willing to help me… my teammates have changed their schedules so they can take me and help translate for me at the doctors offices.

Ez Az a Nap Mit Az Ur Szerzett
(translated: This is the day that the Lord has Made, from Psalm 118:24)
It’s a strange time. Sometimes I get overwhelmed with sadness that my time is more than half over, sometimes I feel like there’s no way I will be ready to come back to the states in the middle of September. But there are other times when the cultural differences, or the language barrier, or the physical exhaustion of being...
Children's Day in Dencshaza
In Hungary, they have a special holiday dedicated to kids. Our team celebrated by going into a school and providing a day-of-fun with different activites. it was so interesting to me that a public school allowed a Christian orginization come in and pretty much take over for a day! Here is a news clipping from Jill Hitchock about our experience in Dencshaza:

A few stories from some of the people I came to know and love during my time in Romania:
Adrianna, The first person I’ve met with the gift of prophesy. To be honest, the whole idea of this spiritual gift being prevalent in today’s world kinda freaked me out and I was a bit skeptical, but I’m telling you- she told me things about myself I’ve never told anyone. And her humble, down-to-earth...

Operation World
After my last post, i have been thinking more and more about the prayer needs in Romania and Hungary. All of you reading this back in the states (or my new friends here in Hungary and Romania) should be informed of specific prayer requests for these people i am living with and serving.
Please read the following excerpts from one of my favorite books (Operation World) and dedicate some time to...
A Week With the Brits
I’m learning the difficulties of saying goodbye. It’s wonderful to have the chance to work with many churches, and short-term teams, but it always comes to an end. I had a rough morning today as I said goodbye to a group from Aston University, from Birmingham England. I spent morning, noon, and night with the team for the past 8 days. It was such a blessing to serve with a group of English ...

Where to begin….
I’m home from Romania! And when I say home I mean my lovely flat in Budapest. When I walked through the door after 17 days of being on the road, I TRULY felt at home. Since I got back I have not been able to wipe the smile off my face, I am so in love with this place. = )
The facts and figures:
I was in Romania for 17days
I slept in 12 different beds
We partnered with...

A typical day on the bus…
This short clip is some of the stuff i was blessed to be a part or in Romania. Such as:
Worship with some teens from one of the churches we partnered with (can you figure out what song they’re singing in Romanian??), distribution of literature, hospitality (giving out tea and coffee), the selling of books (educational books to help promote literacy in...

My Life Here
I leave for Romania in 8 hours!!! I can’t wait to come back and share about all the amazing things I’m confident God is going to do while I’m there!
I should be sleeping right now, but instead, I wanted to share a little bit of random stuff about my life here. Here are a couple lists of observations I have made thus far. I will continue to add to this list as time goes on, so keep checking...

I’ve been listenting to a lot of Brooke Fraser lately, in particular the Hillsong song, “The Desert Song,” because of the lyrics. ( http://www.6lyrics.com/music/hillsong/lyrics/desert_song4.aspx )No matter what’s going on in our lives, we still serve a good God. :) We always have reason to worship him.
I finished my language training! And considering that 2 weeks...

Csókolom!!! (*the literal translation is “I kiss your hand,” it’s typically used with someone you respect or admire…. what a beautiful way to greet someone…!)
I think this blog-writing thing is going to be more difficult than I thought…. It’s difficult to try and describe what I’ve seen/felt/experienced over the past week and a half in a few paragraphs. I guess I can start by saying this...

The first bus excursion....
The main goal of this outreach was to collect and deliver aid (food and clothing) to those who need it. On our way to Kiskunmayas we stopped at two warehouses FILLED with supplies from all around the world for the poor and homeless here in Hungary. The stuff we filled the bus with was mostly from Switzerland. The owner of the warehouse enjoyed that we spoke English and was EXTRA generous… he...
A group of local Roma (gypsies) and other Hungarians very eager for the aid we delivered… donated from a group in Switzerland.
Safe Arrival
I’m here! I’m SO grateful that my travels went smoothly! I’ve only been here 4 days and yet it feels like a month! haha! I have so much to say, but so little time to say it! I arrived and Jill, the woman in charge of ‘taking care’ of me picked me up from the airport as scheduled and took me directly to the Operation Mobilization office here in Hungary (where...
